Joe has run a very successful Seattle-based consulting organization since 1976 – Diehl & Co. LLC. That organization has focused entirely on serving both local and national affordable housing owners, managers, developers, tribal housing organizations and public housing entities. Prior to forming his own organization, Joe began his career in accounting and finance – rising from an entry level auditor at KPMG – to CFO of a $3-billion pension fund real estate investment management firm in the 1980s. His personal mission: to inspire and empower people who share his core values and beliefs. Joe earned his BS in Accountancy at Northern Illinois University in 1971 and JD, UIC-Law in 1979. Joe passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Exam in 1974 and passed the Illinois Bar Exam in 1979. He is now a well-known speaker at national events and has a variety of interests including auctioneering, Functional Medicine health coaching, and running ultramarathons.
